In recent years, wastewater treatment technology has matured gradually. The biofilm method has the advantages of stable operation, strong impact load resistance, more economical and energy saving, no sludge expansion problems, and certain nitrification and denitrification functions. It is widely used For the treatment of domestic sewage and certain industrial wastewater. In recent decades, membrane bioreactors (MBRs) have received extensive attention in the field of wastewater treatment. With the development of membrane materials and membrane technology, their application fields have also continued to expand. Chemical industry, electronics, light industry, Textile, metallurgy, food, petrochemical and other fields, but the problem of membrane pollution is the main bottleneck restricting its wide application. Biofilm-membrane bioreactor is a new type of efficient waste (sewage) water treatment process that combines biofilm method and membrane separation technology. This type of reactor reduces the growth of suspended microorganisms in the MBR to a certain extent. Slow down the membrane pollution; the movement of the filler in the reactor can effectively clean the membrane surface, reducing membrane pollution.


1.1 Biofilm method


The biofilm method is to treat wastewater by using biofilms formed by microorganisms such as bacteria, protozoa, and metazoans attached to the filler or carrier to grow and reproduce. There are mainly biological filters, biological turntables, biological contact oxidation, biological fluidized beds, etc., which have been widely used in wastewater treatment in various fields.


1.2 Membrane bioreactor


Membrane bioreactor is a wastewater treatment technology combining membrane technology and activated sludge method. It can maintain high biomass in the reactor, realize the separation of hydraulic retention time and sludge retention time and produce less sludge, high treatment efficiency, good effluent water quality, compact equipment and small footprint. At present, the research on membrane bioreactor is quite mature, and it has been widely used in wastewater treatment in various fields.


1.3 Biofilm-membrane bioreactor


Biofilm-membrane bioreactor (BMBR) is a new type of wastewater treatment process that combines membrane separation and biofilm technology, and is an emerging technology that can both control pollution and realize wastewater recycling. The removal of pollutants by this process technology mainly depends on the microorganisms growing on the carrier, and the interception effect is mainly reflected in the filtration effect of the membrane and the filter cake layer formed on the membrane. The degradation of organic pollutants in wastewater is mainly composed of three parts: one is the degradation of the biofilm attached to the carrier and a small number of membrane components; the second is the degradation of organic matter by suspended microorganisms in the bioreactor; the third is the use of membrane The interception effect of organic macromolecules makes the organic macromolecules contact with microorganisms for a longer time and can be effectively degraded and removed. At present, BMBR is still in the experimental research stage, and there are not many reports on this at home and abroad.
