Compared with traditional water treatment methods, MBR has the following obvious features:

At the same time, there is no need to consider sludge expansion.

 

3. The sludge concentration is high and the remaining sludge output is small. MBR can be operated under the conditions of high volume load and low sludge load, and the remaining sludge output is low, which greatly reduces the subsequent treatment costs.

 

4. The MBR reactor has a compact structure and concentrated process equipment, so it occupies a small area, and it is easy to realize integrated automatic control and convenient operation and management.

 


Although MBR has the above characteristics, it also has disadvantages, such as serious membrane pollution, low oxygen utilization rate, high investment cost, high energy consumption for water treatment, and chemical cleaning waste liquid will cause secondary pollution. In practical applications, membrane fouling is the biggest limiting factor affecting the promotion of MBR.
